Christmas stationery sets | Free printables
One of my fondest memories from childhood Christmases was watching my letters to Santa disappear up the chimney each year. To this day I’m not 100% certain how he managed to read the letters after they’d burst into flames, but come Christmas morning I’d find many of the goodies I’d put on my list all wrapped up under the Christmas tree. I was a very lucky girl!
When I moved to Hong Kong, I wondered how people’s letters found their way to the North Pole if there was no chimney to send them up…unsurprisingly there aren’t many open hearths in the tropics! Thankfully, I discovered that Santa has his ways and means...in some places he’s teamed up with local post offices, so you can just pop them in the post box…and in other, you can drop them in special mailing boxes that his helpers have set up just for this purpose.
Have you sent your letters to Santa yet?
If you (or your kids 😁) haven’t sent your letters to Santa yet, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to make the last post to the North Pole.
You can make your letter extra special using one of my cute, printable Christmas stationery sets - I’m sure Santa will love the pictures. You can colour them in if you want your letters to have a super special, unique look, or use them just as they are if you’re in a hurry to get your letters in the post.
But what do I write, I hear you ask? Well, first of all, make sure Santa knows who’s writing to him. Can you imagine just how many letters he must get each year? Wouldn’t it be terrible if he got your list mixed up with someone else’s? And don’t forget to tell him whether you’ve been naughty or nice…make sure you give him some examples of all the good things you’ve done. But, whatever you do, be honest…he’ll know if you’re not (that’s Santa magic for you!).
Now it’s time to get into the nitty gritty of “the list”. Be sure to ask nicely…an “I would like” will definitely go down better than an “I want”. And it’s probably a good idea to focus on your top three or four requests, making sure you prioritise things that Santa can make in his workshop.
Don’t forget to include a “thank you” in your letter, and it’s always nice to let the person you’re sending it to know they’re important to you…a quick question about life at the North Pole, how Mrs Claus is, or perhaps whether the reindeer have been behaving themselves will let Santa know you care.
And what about after Christmas?
Paper-Roses’ printable Christmas stationery sets are perfect for thank you letters too. I know it’s always a bit of a chore to write them after Christmas, but just imagine how happy it’ll make Nanna and Grandad or Aunty Enid feel when your letter lands on their doormat…especially at the moment when it might not be possible to spend Christmas together or do a face-to-face thank you. It’s important they know just how appreciated their gifts are and how much joy little Souki got from the specially chosen present they so carefully wrapped.
Whether coloured in or left plain, they’re perfect for sending thank yous, hugs and a whole lot of love!
